As the upcoming election looms, I realize that my focus has only been on two issues. My two main concerns have been, and still are, abortion and the 2nd Amendment. In this post I am going to try to address them both.

There is irrefutable, scientific and biological evidence that life begins at conception. If two animals copulate, they can produce only their own species. Dogs cannot produce cats or rabbits. Therefore, the results of dog mating are dog. The same is true of all animal life that reproduces sexually. The idea that a man and a woman can copulate and produce merely a blob of tissue that is not human is totally inane. We surely are not so stupid or ignorant as to suppose that mankind is the only sexually reproducing life form whose products of conception are not, from the moment of conception, human as they are.

It has been convenient to try to equate a human fetus to something less than a human life for purposes of abortion. Supposedly, the woman will not feel guilty about killing her own flesh and blood if an authority (a doctor or nurse) tells her that she simply has a blob of tissue in her uterus.

Dianne N. Irving, MA, PhD in International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy 1999 makes this statement regarding the initial stages of human embryology, “To begin with, scientifically something very radical occurs between the processes of gametogenesis and fertilization the change from a simple part of one human being (i.e., a sperm) and a simple part of another human being (i.e., an oocyte usually referred to as an “ovum” or “egg”), which simply possess “human life”, to a new, genetically unique, newly existing, individual, whole living human being (a single-cell embryonic human zygote). That is, upon fertilization, parts of human beings have actually been transformed into something very different from what they were before; they have been changed into a single, whole human being. During the process of fertilization, the sperm and the oocyte cease to exist as such, and a new human being is produced.”

All that tells us is that from the moment of fertilization a new human being is formed. To take the embryo before it is born is abortion which a group of judges decided should be legal but is actually legalized murder.

Moving on to the 2nd Amendment and the issues that raises, we have to consider it in the light of the expressions of the founding fathers of our country and what they wrote and said about it.

The very first founding document of these United States of America is the Declaration of Independence. Almost everyone is familiar with the first two paragraphs of that document and the often quoted, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” From this sentence spring the first Ten Amendments to the Constitution of the United States of America. Those amendments were placed in the Constitution as guarantees that the unalienable rights of the citizen, referred to in the Declaration, would not be infringed, negated, done away with or ignored by the Federal Government. Of these rights the 2nd Amendment recognized that we as free citizens had the God-given right to keep and bear arms lest any government, foreign or domestic, should try to destroy and take away the freedoms declared and sought in the writing of the Declaration of Independence.

There is a movement that has permeated our country and society from education to government and economics which considers our Constitution a living document which changes, morphs and transforms as time passes and societal ideas change. This is a radical idea but has been adopted by a large body of determined people who seek to make over our country into something resembling a European nation. However, our founding fathers saw the errors of Europe and sought to replace them with decentralized economics, government and social engineering.

For the past eight years we have had an administration which has been led by an Alinskyite who vowed that he would, “fundamentally change” the United States. He has disregarded the Constitution and laws of this country which he swore he would uphold. He has done everything in his power to bring this nation down to the likes of a third world country. And for anyone who may not be familiar with Saul Alinsky he was a radical Marxist organizer who taught and wrote about class struggle and how to utilize it to bring change in the government.

Hillary Clinton was a young college student when she first met Alinsky and went on to interview him and write her senior thesis on Saul Alinsky and his ideas. Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton studied and used Alinsky methods and are now utilizing them to try to change our country to a more socialist/Marxist nation. That said a Clinton Presidency would be a continuation and worsening of the conditions we have had forced on us for the past eight years.

Looking at Clinton’s proposed platform for her Presidency, it is not difficult to see she espouses abortion up to actual birth. She is also a strong advocate for “gun control” which, historically, has been a mantra of those who sought to subjugate, by disarmament, the entire populace of their country. From the writing of the 2nd Amendment to where we are now with the government, federal and even some states, seeking more control over who can buy, own and carry a firearm, it is a scary intrusion of the government against the 2nd Amendment.

I recently cited a lot of history on the founding fathers and the right to keep and bear arms. I would like to cite some statistics that I was able to find on both abortion and homicides by firearms.

Sifting Reality reported from 1973 to 2013 there were 54,559,615 abortions and only 524,278 homicides involving firearms. Yet the left in our country is yelling for more gun control to protect the children while allowing and promoting the murder of our unborn children by the millions.

Pew Research Center reported that the gun homicide rate is down 49% since it peaked in 1993. They did not report any similar stats for abortion but I found statistics showing that abortion rates have also dropped in the same time frame by 9.3%. Considering the hugely disparate abortion killings versus gun killings these are not the statistical facts we would like to see. Again to cry out against the gun for deaths but absolve abortion is inane.

Finally, I would like to reiterate that neither guns nor law-abiding gun owners commit the murders that are done by firearms. Therefore, to fault the lawful gun owner is inane and prejudicial. Also, to blame the manufacturer for the illegal use of his product is inane and prejudicial. The gun maker is not to blame if someone buys or steals the gun and then decides to use it to commit a crime. We might as well blame the automobile and auto manufacturers for all the death and injuries that automobile drivers cause. I have a fully loaded gun in my house in the event that I may need it some time to defend my wife and myself. It has never discharged itself. It has only ever fired when I have taken it to the range and, pointing it downrange at a target, pulled the trigger. I hope and pray I never have to use it against another human being. Still, would you not have a fire extinguisher, fully loaded, in your house in the event of a fire?

Please do not vote for more centralized, repressive government; but please vote.
